If I could imagine heaven it would involve wine and cheese. I am a sucker for cheese especially brie. Everyone has had the baked brie in the pie crust with a few nuts and maybe some brown sugar sprinkled on top, but when my husband and I were opening a bottle of wine and looking for a snack I pulled out the brie along with the fig preserves and before I knew it…I created some heaven in my kitchen! I hope you can create a little piece in yours! Serve with a light white wine or pino noir.
1 8-10 ounce wheel of brie cheese
2 tablespoons of fig preserves
1/4 cup of walnuts crushed
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees
Slice the top of the brie rind off
spread the fig preserves over the brie and sprinkle with the walnuts
Bake for 10 minutes until the cheese just starts to melt
Serve with plain pita chips or baguette
